Villa «Orlandoni»
Moltrasio, Italy
This gorgeous villa, with a private jetty and a panoramic terrace, dates back to the beginning of the last century and becomes the perfect getaway. In 2019, it was extensively renovated over an 18-month period and carefully restored to its original splendor. The renovation succeeded in retaining many of the original features, while harmoniously balancing them with modern comforts. The villa has four bedrooms and/or suites, living areas, and an outdoor area with subtropical plantings and pool. The tranquility of the property promises complete relaxation. Here you can reside and enjoy the breathtaking lake scenery undisturbed.
The flooring throughout the house was not in good condition and needed replacement. The bathrooms were no longer up to today's standards and some were run down. Wall coverings from different periods were not in keeping with the house and were deficient.
Working with the talented architect Fabio Bianchi and the local project manager Stephanie Hess, who supervised the local artisans, this stately jewel came back to life and its full glory. The client, who is an artist, and her husband, who is a gallery owner, decorated and furnished the apartment with design pieces from their collection.
On the one hand, the owners wanted to be able to experience the generous spaciousness of the house more strongly and, on the other hand, to bring a new freshness and playfulness into the property. Thus, in close collaboration with the owner and the architect on site, we helped to create a successful holistic concept.

Dolcefarniente under a southern sky. Villa Orlandoni is located in Moltrasio, in the most sought-after part of Lake Como, between the famous Hotel Villa d'Este in Cernobbio and the residence of George Clooney in Laglio.

Entrance
The villa, with its stately entrance, welcomes guests into the stairhall with a marble floor specially designed by our team and geometric murals by the owner and artist Melli Ink, reflecting the artistic character of the house.

Kitchen
On the ground floor, the custom kitchen, with its soft grey tones and stunning calacatta viola marble top, interprets the classic Italian lifestyle in a modern way. The cabinets were meticulously planned by our office and were implemented by skilled local artisans.

«The liberty style elegance and artistic sophistication will take this place to new heights of contemporary style.»

Bathrooms
The bathroom layouts were redesigned and modern cement tiles in various colours were introduced. On the walls, we opted for soft pastel glazed tiles, depending on the color concept of each room, to accentuate the floors. The graphic floors become a stunning backdrop for the freestanding elements such as the bathtub and vanity.
Marble accents were introduced on the custom-made vanities, and as an eye-catcher on the backsplash wall in the master bathroom.

The sophisticated and timeless fittings in the elegant finish Platinum Dark were an ideal complement for the bathrooms throughout the project. The use of the finest materials such as marble, high-end wood flooring and tile allow the architectural qualities of the home to be further accentuated.

POOL
The pool has been a new addition to the house and picks up the geometric star pattern tiles from the interiors. A mesmerizing pool that speaks vacation!
The combination of all of these measures in and around the house brought the project to its beautiful completion.
