Located next to the opera house, on the shore of Lake Zurich in the vibrant Seefeld district, this small luxury hotel has been transformed into a special boutique hotel of great international appeal.
Our vision was to create a landmark hotel that exudes the spirit of distant travels, is inspired by early 1900’s style and is infused with historically relevant design elements. A place for everyone to meet and enjoy a sophisticated lifestyle.
The hotel includes 44 rooms and suites spread over 5 floors. Each floor evokes the history of Switzerland's textile trade with different countries or regions. Thus, attributes of Spain, France, England, India and Asia can be found in fabrics, inlays and decorative elements. Overall the room design is a lyrical interpretation of a voyager’s lifestyle at the turn of the century.

The aesthetic flare and materials are inspired by traditional elements. Wood paneling and intricate craftsmanship merge seamlessly with colonial western influences to create an immersive interior that is both timeless and modern.
The furniture has been designed for a contemporary way of living, yet infused with a touch of an old world style, combining function and aesthetics. The mini bar with wickerwork, also custom-designed by our studio, houses not only local gin from Zürich, but also accessories and books from distant places.

The bathroom is a luxurious sanctuary, with soft green and beige tones in the mosaic floors. The floors were recreated based on the original mosaic found during demolition.
On the walls, we opted for old art nouveau white glazed tiles with a decorative band to create a beautiful backdrop for the vanity.
The custom marble top vanity provides all the amenities a guest would need during their stay. And the sophisticated and timeless lines of Dornbracht Vaia were an ideal match for the fixtures.
